You, the parents, are one of the major foundations of the Beta Eta chapter of Beta Theta Pi. You provide support, encouragement and act as one of the most useful resources available.

We, your sons, attempt to show our gratitude in many ways. Throughout the years some fathers have stepped up and assisted us in a way that has led to us initiating them as honorary brothers. Beta Moms are one of only three groups outside the immediate brotherhood that are permitted to wear letters and wear the badge of Beta Theta Pi. This shows your importance to us as a brotherhood.

Throughout the year, the brothers of the Beta Eta chapter attempt to offer opportunities for parents to come to the house and get to know one another. Our most recent event was in May when a barbecue was held on our front lawn following graduation for parents, brothers and recent graduates to come together and celebrate. Any parent of an initiated brother, pledge, or even a recruit is invited and encouraged to drop by the house for a house tour and to meet the brotherhood. Although the house is always open, it is best to schedule your visit either through your son or by e-mailing Eric Degrass at Eric.Degrass@umit.maine.edu in order to ensure that people will be here to greet you.

Thank you for your commitment and involvement in and to our chapter. We appreciate all you do.
