| Annual Meeting Brother Barrie Kelby, fundraising chair, expressed thanks to all the Brothers who have donated and made pledges to the Building Fund. In three years, 55 brothers have participated, and about $109,000 has been rasied. Kudos to Barrie for his diligence and committment. The "Bad News" part of this is that we spent $81,000 to completely rehab the kitchen and install new equipment (except for the stove). The project included tile flooring, structural repairs, electrical, and plumbing improvements. The end result is that we now have a safe, modern, functional long-lasting kitchen that is also a thing of beauty and a rush asset as well. Kudos also to Brother Jim Purvis, for leading the way in designing the new layout and bird-dogging the project with several trips from his home in California. The "Good News" is that the Board is determined to invest well with the improvement and repair projects, and I think it shows in this case. When I began as President four years ago, I admit I was daunted by the long list revealed by the Engineering study. Since then, with the help of donors, volunteers, and fellow Board members, we have come a long way and finally have something to show for it. There is yet more to be done, and now I know we can do it!
